Ivorian open to Premier League switch

Attacker Abdul Kader KeitaIvory Coast attacker Abdul Kader Keita has declared his interest in joining a Premier League club this January.

The 31-year-old has been linked with the likes of Sunderland, Southampton, QPR and West Brom recently, after been released by Qatari club Al Sadd.

A number of top European sides are also thought to be monitoring his situation, but it is believed that he would favour a switch to England.

The challenge of playing against some of the top full-backs in the world football is key in his desire to move to the Premier League and he’s revealed that negotiations are being prepared:

“I would love to test myself against the best left backs of this world, who are all in the Premier League; Cole, Evra, Clichy,  Baines.” He is quoted by SkySports.

“Hopefully that dream will come true for me in a couple of weeks’ time.

“My agent is working on it in England.”

Keita is somewhat of a journeyman, having played for multiple clubs in various regions of the world.

He began his career with hometown club Africa Sports before moving to Tunisian giants Etoile de Sahel.

From here he switched to the Middle East, playing for Al Ain and Al Sadd.

It was here he was noticed by European clubs and completed a transfer to Lille.

His biggest move came in 2007 when he switched to Ligue 1 rivals Lyon.

His career began to stagnate in France forcing him to drift to Galatasaray and then return to Al Sadd where he was released earlier this year.
