Leeds United recently announced on their website that full-back Laurens De Bock had joined Belgian side K.V. Oostende on a season-long loan deal, and Whites fans on Twitter weren’t so sorry to see him go.
De Bock joined the West Yorkshire side from Club Brugge in January this year, but although he started well, a number of mistakes in February’s away draw with Derby turned the Leeds faithful against him.
The 25-year-old eventually made just seven appearances for the club and, although he featured in pre-season, it was not enough to impress new boss Marcelo Bielsa who has clearly sanctioned his departure. With the signing of left-back Barry Douglas in the summer, De Bock was pushed even further down the pecking order at Elland Road.
Although he has only left the club temporarily at the moment, Leeds fans will be hoping he plays well enough to secure a permanent deal back in his home country to put an end to his nightmare spell in England. Check out some of the best tweets in reaction to the Belgian’s move below.

Wasn’t a fan of his if I’m honest

Initially thought deBock could have been a good addition, but seems not. We have far better now. Good luck to him.

Bit gutted for De Bock. Don’t think he’s the useless duffer he was made out to be. Just a shame his worst game was televised, and that injury and our use of wing backs denied him a right of reply. Best of luck for the future. #lufc
