Bristol City defender Aden Flint got on the score-sheet but couldn't prevent his team being knocked out of the EFL Cup at the semi-final stage by Manchester City at Ashton Gate on Tuesday night, and Leeds United fans have urged their club to sign the 28-year-old.

The Robins came into the second leg clash having been beaten 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium in the first, but their chances of reaching the final were realistically ended when Leroy Sane and Sergio Aguero scored quick-fire goals either side of half-time.

However, the hosts did level things up with a header from Marlon Pack and an injury-time goal from Flint – his seventh in all competitions this season – before Kevin De Bruyne secured a 3-2 win on the night – and 5-3 on aggregate – with the last kick of the game.

Leeds supporters were quick to have their say on his display via social media, and while one said "I wish Leeds would show some ambition and sign Flint", another said "I'd love Flint at Leeds".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
