Leeds United are in red hot form at the moment.

The Whites have won each of their last four games, and it’s certainly a great time to be a Leeds fan.

Graham Smyth spoke about the club’s great form, as well as touching on how likeable the team are this year.

What’s been said then?

Smyth was speaking on the latest edition of the Yorkshire Evening Post’s podcast, and he waxed lyrical about the current crop of players at Leeds United.

The journalist was full of praise for one player in particular as he made his thoughts on Ben White very clear.

“They’ve got all this likeability. There’s Alioski’s madness. You’ve got Klich being just a pest and an irritant” Smyth said during the latest Inside Elland Road podcast (2/12/19 22:00)

“Then you’ve got Ben White being as calm as you like, playing the Championship like he’s a 15-year-old playing under 12s.

“There’s the Bielsa factor obviously, people are obsessed with him, but they’re winning games and it feels as if the club are just ticking along really nicely.”

Spot on

It may seem a bit excessive to say that Ben White looks as if he’s a man amongst boys, but if you’ve seen him play at all this season you’d know that this type of praise is more than warranted.

He’s just everything you’d want from a centre-back in Bielsa’s system. He’s averaging more interceptions per game than anyone else in the Championship and his pass success rate of 85.5 per cent is fantastic.

One thing that often separates Premier League players and Championship players is their footballing IQ, but White’s reading of the game and ability to know when to do certain things at the right times make him a class above other players in this division, and his praise from Smyth is more than warranted.

Meanwhile, Phil Hay has claimed that Leeds would be powerless to stop one man’s departure if a big bid came in.
