Leeds United have held talks with Liverpool over the possibility of signing midfielder Marko Grujic on loan according to respected journalist Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post.

What's the story?

The 22-year-old was signed by Jurgen Klopp in 2016 and has made eight substitution appearances for the Reds in his time there.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Cardiff where he played 13 times for Neil Warnock’s team, scoring once.

Now according to Phil Hay, Leeds have been in talks with the Reds, but there's not a huge amount of interest and the main instigator of the talks has been Liverpool.

Take a chance

The 6ft 3in tall Grujic impressed for Cardiff last season and helped the Bluebirds gain promotion to the Premier League thanks to his composure and range of passing from defensive midfield.

If he could repeat this for Leeds he could be a great addition as he would offer serious physicality in the middle of the park and help shore up the midfield.

A loan deal would involve little risk and he would add serious class and promotion-winning experience to the Leeds squad.
