Legend still thinks he’s playing for Chelsea after Man City goal

Scoring a late equaliser against a team he represented for 13 years must have been a strange sensation for Manchester City‘s Frank Lampard, and his refusal to celebrate his goal against Chelsea was an understandable mark of respect for a club with which he had enjoyed so much success.

However, it seems that Lampard proceeded to show a bit too much respect for his old club in the aftermath of the game – referring to his current club Man City as ‘they’ in a post-match interview.

The ex-England international will probably be glad that he has faced his beloved Blues so early in the season, as he is unlikely to confuse his “we’s” with his “they’s” when his new team plays the likes of Burnley and Crystal Palace.
