Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri has moved to scrap speculation that both Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez could leave the King Power Stadium next month.
The English and Algerian duo have been the Premier League’s standout players so far this season, with their combined 26 goals having fired the Foxes to top spot after 16 games.
Naturally with Leicester having been a Championship club as recently as 2013/14, interest in the double-act has been strong, which has led to speculation that one, if not both, could be on the move to a bigger club in January.
However, Ranieri has moved to quell fears that his team’s star pair will be heading away from the club:
“No one can buy Vardy or Mahrez in January,” He is quoted by Metro.
“They don’t have the money and they don’t have a price.”
Vardy took his league goal tally to 15 in 16 with his strike against Chelsea on Monday night, and has already broken the Premier League record for scoring in the most consecutive matches following a stunning 11 game run.
Mahrez has been, arguably, the best all-round player in the division this term.
