The European dream continued for Leicester City tonight as they rode their luck at times to beat the Danish outfit FC Copenhagen.

The game started nervously for the Foxes as the Danes, buoyed by their vociferous away support, started the brighter of the two.

As the first half wore on though, Leicester began to find their rhythm and their fans their voices and duly, a goal game before the break.

It wasn't the most aesthetically pleasing of goals to watch to be frank but they all count and Riyad Mahrez won't care one bit as he left his poor Premier League form behind him.

The Algerian linked up with his compatriot Islam Slimani to score from close range and give the Foxes the lead, a lead they held on to for the rest of the match.

1-0 it finished, then, to the Foxes and here are five images to help sum up another great European night for the club...

Crackling atmosphere

You can't deny that the Copenhagen fans certainly did their bit to generate an atmosphere in this game.

Leicester's fans have been vocal on this European journey of theirs but the Danish supporters were not to be outdone and brought flares with them to get the point home leading to this rather dramatic picture from the beginning of the game.

 Leicester edge a tight first-half

Neither side could really assert themselves in the first-half as the rain fell at the King Power.

Copenhagen actually started the brighter of the two before the Foxes began to grow into the game and took the lead through Riyad Mahrez giving them a lead that they saw out until half-time.

 Mahrez back with a bang

Riyad Mahrez grabbed the opener just before half-time after a good knock-down from his team-mate and compatriot Islam Slimani.

The two Algerians are beginning to create a bit of understanding between one another and this was the culmination of weathering an early storm and then striking back before half-time by Leicester.

 Tough night for Vards

Whilst the Foxes as a team got the result they wanted it was another frustrating from Jamie Vardy.

So often the main attraction last season, the England international just couldn't get things to work for him as much as he tried. Leicester tried to play him in enough times but he just couldn't find the net. On to the next one, then.

A lot's been made of Leicester's defensive frailties all of a sudden this season.

Wes Morgan and Robert Huth were as solid as they came last season but have struggled from set pieces especially this time around. Nevertheless, they could not be passed by the Copenhagen attack and it'll go down as a very welcome, confidence-boosting clean sheet.
