Leicester battling to sign star from Serie A side, Arsenal have been watching him

Leicester and Bournemouth are both keen on Udinese’s Jakub Jankto, who was scouted extensively by Arsenal last season, according to reports from the Guardian.

The Czech Republic U-21 international midfielder is highly-rated in Italian football after shining in Serie B last season while on loan at Ascoli.

His performances have led to a recall to parent club Udinese for the current campaign – with manager Giuseppe Iachini thought to be ready to give him game time – and reports claim Leicester and Bournemouth are already eyeing him ahead of the January transfer window.

It’s understood that bids of around £8m are likely to be accepted by the Udine club as the player is in the last 12 months of his contract, which should put him well within the Foxes’ budget.

Arsenal are believed to have watched Jankto, 20, on many occasions last season as he struck five goals in 34 league games and impressed with his stamina and determination.
