Kasper Schmeichel joined Leicester City from Leeds United in the summer of 2011.
The Denmark international has been the club’s number one since his arrival and has managed 346 appearances in all competitions.
In that time the goalkeeper has kept 110 clean sheets, which is impressive when considering that he is not turning out for one of the so-called bigger teams.
Schmeichel did not miss a single Premier League match as the Foxes won the title in 2015/16, and he has been in impressive form too this season – keeping four clean sheets in 11 league outings for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
It was actually the Dane’s 33rd birthday on Tuesday.
And as expected, Leicester’s official Twitter account was on hand with a special message for the former Manchester City youngster.
That led to a number of Leicester fans taking to social media to lavish the stopper, who has become a real icon at the King Power Stadium, with praise.
A selection of the Twitter reaction can be seen below:

Wasn’t sure about him in the early days but he’s been a class keeper for years https://t.co/Tvf3BopX9y how he’s stayed with Leicester as well…sure he’s had opportunities to move the last couple of years with the form he’s shown
