Leicester join illustrious list with Champions League record

Leicester City have settled into the Champions League superbly with three wins from their first three matches in the competition, a record that has seen them put their name amongst some big sides in European football.

The Foxes are the first tournament debutants to win all three games in the competition since Malaga in the 2012/13 season but the Spaniards have not qualified since and are therefore not a comparison Leicester fans will welcome!

However, the other three teams that boast the record Leicester cemented last night are all more established within the European game…

AC Milan have since won the Champions League three times following its inception in 1992, taking their overall tally of European Cups to seven, whilst Juventus have lifted the honour twice – once in the Champions League era, back in 1996.

Paris Saint-Germain are yet to conquer the European stage following their Sheikh takeover but continue to push towards that goal, with Unai Emery having been drafted in this summer to improve upon the Parisians’ record on the European stage having won three consecutive Europa League titles with Sevilla.

Whilst it all looks good for Leicester City now, it is worth pointing out that only Juventus have won the competition in their maiden year.
