According to German publication Suddeutsche Zeitung, Bayern Munich have joined the race to sign Hakim Ziyech. But with Leicester also taking an interest, should the Foxes continue to pursue their interest and attempt to compete with one of Europe's big boys for the player?

What's the word?

Ajax have been the story of this seasons Champions League and one of many players to catch the eye has been Ziyech. The Moroccan has been in superb form across all competitions, scoring 17 goals and claiming 14 assists.

It's quite the record so it's hardly surprising to see him taking the interest of clubs elsewhere.

Bleacher Report claimed in March that Leicester had watched the player, but with his stock rising and Bayern Munich now interested it would be quite something if he was to join the Foxes over other potential suitors.

Transfermarkt currently values the player at £31.5m so it would likely take a considerable bid to prise him away from the Dutch club.

Leicester shouldn't get sucked in

The race for Ziyech's signature looks as though it could be quite a heated one this summer and he won't be the first or last Ajax player to be dragged into a transfer saga.

However, Brendan Rodgers shouldn't get involved in the bidding war that may take place.

Instead, they have to look at securing the services of Youri Tielemans. The Belgian midfielder has been superb since arriving at the King Power on loan and considering his age and displays in the Premier League so far, will also cost a large sum of money.

Rodgers revealed that they'd leave a decision over the 21-year-old until the summer but they'll surely be thinking hard about whether to invest in the Monaco man already.

Affording both Ziyech and Tielemans is highly unlikely so one of them has to take priority. Given how the latter has adapted to life in England his signing would be a no-brainer. There's also no guarantee that the former would be able to replicate his current season again.
