Lineker slams FA for Vardy decision

Leicester City could be set to struggle over the festive season after Jamie Vardy’s controversial red card against Stoke City was not overturned by the Football Association’s disciplinary commission, upholding the three-match ban for the England international.

With the Foxes floundering at the wrong end of the Premier League table, the loss of Vardy for three matches could be a massive issue for Claudio Ranieri’s side- and one famous fan was furious with the decision.

Slamming the FA for upholding Vardy’s red card, despite what he deemed to be a ‘blatantly wrong’ decision from the referee, Gary Lineker did not hold back on his criticism for English football’s governing body.

Whilst the dismissal of Vardy was controversial, the two-footed challenge from the Leicester hero was dangerous and could have led to serious harm. On top of that, the FA would never suggest an official of theirs made a wrong decision so it was always unlikely the appeal would go Leicester’s way.
