Leicester vs Chelsea didn't have anything riding on it as a contest, but for one individual that didn't seem to matter.

Ben Chilwell was excellent against the Blues, but it may have been a farewell appearance, such is the interest from Manchester City. Foxes fans will hope not, but after his final match of the season, they have every right to be scared.

If the left-back needed an audition, then this arguably served as one. Taking on one of the top clubs, it sent a message. One which will concern Leicester supporters but will only have potential suitors rubbing their hands with glee.

This season has been a landmark one for the 22-year-old, signing a new deal and also earning his first England cap. It's been a superb season for Chilwell and after breaking through last term, he's cemented himself as one of the best in his position in the country.

His display last Sunday was phenomenal and in keeping Pedro quiet, he was able to achieve something that not many have done in both the Premier League and in Europe this term.

The Spaniard has quietly been one of Chelsea's best players this season. Chilwell, however, swatted him away with a display worthy of a top club.

Further south of Leicester, Oleksandr Zinchenko had lifted the Premier League title at the Amex, but a more competent defender in Chilwell could soon replace him.

Pep Guardiola cooled City's interest in a left back last month, but Chilwell's numbers against Chelsea may have him thinking twice.

The most convincing aspect of his performance was just how untroubled he looked from a defensive point of view. Not once did the likes of Pedro dribble past him as he demonstrated his ability to keep at bay one of the most pedigreed footballers around.

A clean sheet, therefore, was everything he deserved.

What will have the top teams eyeing him most, though, is his attacking qualities. This season we've seen the likes of Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold essentially act as wingers for Liverpool. Perhaps another team will follow suit in a similar fashion by signing Chilwell.

Impressively, he completed four dribbles against Chelsea. The England international is fantastic on the ball but this was new levels from the youngster.

The defender is a class above Leicester and this performance was one of his most impressive in a royal blue shirt yet. Should that game have been his final for the Foxes, then it was some way to bow out.
