Many of his teammates and friends were quick to point out this was truly a touch of class from Maddison with many replies with heart emojis supporting this move and applauding the player.

Even England's official account admitted this was truly a great act from the young 22-year-old as they pointed out it was quite the lovely touch.

Other players, teammates or not, were also not immune to this touching tribute to a late friend. Well done, Maddison!
