Premier League veteran set for top flight return

Premier League strugglers Leicester City are preparing a move for former Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City defender Vedran Corluka.

The 28 year-old began his career in English football at City in 2007 before moving to Spurs a season later, for whom he made more than 100 appearances in all competitions.

Corluka is excited by the prospect of returning to the Premier League and his current club Lokomotiv Moscow will sell for £4million.

West Ham and Aston Villa are also monitoring the Croatian international’s situation.

Elsewhere, Leicester are still negotiating with German side Mainz for Japan centre-forward Shinji Okazaki after their initial offer of £8 million was rejected.

The Foxes have already brought Andrej Kramaric to the King Power Stadium for a club-record fee of £9 million as they look to strengthen their prospects of top flight survival, and their interest in Corluka suggests that their business in the January transfer window is far from over.
