Revealed: 97% think Marc Albrighton should have been included in Southgate’s England squad

The current international break sees England take on the Netherlands and Italy, but it appears a significant section of Three Lions fans think Gareth Southgate has made a glaring omission from his squad.

Dele Alli is the only player in the current England squad to have made more key passes in the Premier League over the last three seasons than Marc Albrighton, so we recently asked our readers whether the Leicester City winger should have been included in the side to take on Oranje and Azzurri.

And although it’s important to point out that our poll was mostly targeted at Leicester City fans, the response was still rather emphatic, with 97% of those who voted believing the 5 foot 9 midfielder should have been handed a call-up by Southgate.
