Shocked: Leicester fans share their response to Fuchs signing a new deal

Leicester announced this week that left-back Christian Fuchs has signed a new deal with the club.

The Austrian’s contract was due to run out at the end of the season, but instead of releasing him, as they have done with Shinji Okazaki and Danny Simpson, they tied him down for another year.

The response on Twitter was mixed from Leicester supporters, but most were happy to see him sign an extension. One fan hailed the defender’s personality whilst another called him a club legend.

A host of supporters made reference to Ben Chilwell, with someone concerned that their promising star may now leave. There weren’t such worries from other members of the King Power faithful, though, as a further fan claimed Fuchs was fantastic backup to the 22-year-old, hinting that Chilwell wouldn’t be departing.

The experienced full-back has become a fan favourite at Leicester, cementing himself in club folklore after helping them win the Premier League in 2015/16. To date, he’s played 119 times for the Foxes after arriving four years ago.

Here’s the best of the reaction to his extension.
