One of the transfer sagas of the summer could well involve Harry Maguire. The defender was the subject of interest from Manchester United last year but the 26-year-old is again firmly in their minds.
The Sun reported over the weekend that United were willing to meet Leicester’s mega £80m evaluation of the centre back with Ed Woodward set to cave into their demands.
A potential transfer fee that high seems absurd but some Foxes fans took to Twitter to claim that they still wouldn’t move him on.
The reaction was mixed but one supporter suggested that Leicester weren’t a selling club anymore whilst another said that money wouldn’t replace Maguire.
However, other fans were more eager to sell. A further supporter said they’d be fools not to accept an offer of £80m. One member of the King Power faithful meanwhile made reference to the number of central defenders already there.
Leicester’s number 15 played a part in 31 Premier League fixtures last season, scoring three goals in the process.
He also played a vital hand in England’s run to the Nations League finals this summer as they missed out on a chance of securing a trophy after losing to the Netherlands.
Here’s the best of the reaction.
I most certainly would not. Why are people so quick to want to sell off our best young players? We are trying to break the top 6, why get rid of one of this teams core players? We are not a selling club anymore.

Don’t get me wrong I love Maguire as a CB on the Foxes. But if United offer 80 million we’d be fools to reject it.

No, we have ambitions to be back at the top. You dont do that by selling top talent

No he plays a key part in the squad and sometimes when we lack something in the middle of the park he comes along with some good forward runs and key passes.

I’d be slightly annoyed as it just proves we still can’t keep our main players but we’d be stupid not to accept that offer, we have plenty of backup CB’s

If we get tielmans and do not lose any other first team player then I would I accept it
Also a clause that if united get in top 4 then a£5mill bonus or if they win a trophy then another £5 mill bonus

Maybe, if he wants to leave, take the £80m, we’ll finish above them anyway next year
— Stuart Davies (@Stuart_Davies1) June 16, 2019
we’d be stupid to turn it down

You’ll never get a centre half as good. Money won’t replace Maguire.
