It was no secret how Jamie Vardy felt under Claude Puel. The dynamic forward wasn't a fan of the Frenchman's style of play and as a result, was left out of the starting XI at Leicester on regular occasions.

However, restored to the team since Brendan Rodgers walked through the door at the King Power, Vardy has scored six goals in six games. It's hardly a coincidence, especially when you consider that the Scot actually has the team playing to his strengths again.

However, with the form of Harvey Barnes and Demarai Gray a cause for concern in wide areas, the return of one man to the starting XI can help overcome that issue and get even more out of Leicester's top scorer.

On the chalkboard

Against Newcastle, Leicester struggled to break down what was a stern Magpies defence. But, all it took was for Marc Albrighton, missing since January, to come off the bench and chances were fashioned.

Despite only being on the field for ten minutes, he made three key passes, the most out of any Leicester player during the entire game. It's quite a stat but shows why he simply has to start against West Ham this weekend.

He immediately looked to release Vardy down the channels and despite the striker being in hot form, fast-tracking Albrighton back into the starting XI would make him an even greater threat.

The player who would have to make way is Demarai Gray. The wide man has struggled a lot recently and just two goals since November says it all.

Although Barnes on the opposite flank hasn't scored since returning from a loan spell with West Brom, his average of three shots per game still makes him a considerable threat going forward.

The 21-year-old may cut a frustrated figure at times but the fact he's still getting in the right areas should be encouraging. Gray, on the other hand, is rarely proving to be a threat.

Therefore, Albrighton simply has to come back into the side. He may not be the most flashy player but he doesn't need to be when the likes of James Maddison and Youri Tielemans are in the team.
