The debate over who would win in a match between Jürgen Klopp’s current Liverpool side and Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’ of 2004 has only increased in being one of football’s most intriguing quandaries the longer the former’s undefeated run in the Premier League this season – now spanning 25 games – has gone on.
Today, however, we can finally reveal who is the most invincible ‘Invincible’ through the medium of Football Manager 2020.
Of course, Liverpool still have several games left to navigate before they can pull up a chair next to Wenger et al at the table of golden Premier League trophy-winners. But bearing in mind their current form, who’d bet against them?
A visit by the Reds to the Emirates on the 2nd of May is currently backdropped by one of the most interesting subplots of the season. 10th-place Arsenal are currently so ineffective in dictating their own present, the opportunity to preserve the past by keeping their place in history unique – unless you count Preston in 1989 – could offer the players some much-needed redemption.
