Liverpool and Arsenal face competition for Serie A starlet

Jorginho (Verona)Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal will have to battle Inter Milan for the signature of Verona midfielder Jorginho, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The Brazilian-born Italy U-21 international has become one of the most sought after young players in Europe following a fine start to the Serie A season.

Newly promoted Verona have enjoyed an excellent opening period to the campaign and currently occupy fourth spot.

Jorginho has been a key man in their run, netting five goals in eight outings.

This has alerted Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea – with the London duo known to have had scouts watching the 21-year-old – as well as Inter.

The Milan giants are keen to offer the starlet a January move, and are hopeful that not having to leave Italy may appeal to the playmaker.

Inter are willing to pay £8.5m to push through the deal, with Verona likely to accept such a figure.

AC Milan and Fiorentina are also said to be keen.

Arsenal are rumoured to have held meetings with Jorginho’s representatives, while Chelsea and Liverpool remain in the running.

The attacking midfielder netted twice during Verona’s weekend win over Parma.

Could Jorginho be a Premier League hit?
