Liverpool and Arsenal face fight for Serie A starlet

Jorginho (Verona)Liverpool and Arsenal will have to fight off interest from Juventus and Fiorentina if they are to complete a January swoop for Verona midfielder Jorginho, according to reports from The Express.

The Brazilian was linked with the Reds over the summer, while Arsene Wenger is also thought to have been alerted by his displays recently.

However, the pair were set to go head-to-head for his signature this winter, but now it is believed that Juve and Fiorentina are keen.

The Italian duo have been watching the 21-year-old and are confident that they can lure him away from the newly promoted Serie A outfit.

With a valuation of £7m, both sides are confident that a deal can be reached swiftly, and are hopeful that he will be keen to move.

Lazio are also in the race, but the Rome-based outfit are unwilling to break the £4m mark.

Jorginho has been a key part of Verona’s impressive start to life in the top tier, with his three assists helping the minnows rise to fifth position in the standings.

Born in Brazil, the creative midfielder moved to Italy as a youngster where he joined Verona’s youth set-up.
