Reports in Spain suggest the Reds are keen to start negotiations for the 27-year-old, who they believe they can capture for £8million, despite the player’s £21million release clause.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez has also previously been linked with a move for the Brazilian, and a formal offer from Liverpool may spark a bidding war between the Merseyside rivals.
Siqueira has recently spoken about his future, and revealed the club denied him the chance to join Valencia last season.
“I had a very good offer from Valencia last year and the club decided not to sell me,” he said.
“I simply told the club’s president that if there is another offer this year, that he should let me make my dream of playing for a big European club come true.
“He said yes, that he would help me. And this is what’s going on. If the offers that are coming are good for the club and for me, I think it’s the right moment to sell me.”
La Liga giants Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for the full back, although are yet to submit any kind of formal offer.
