Liverpool and Everton may miss out on defensive target Tiago Ilori because Monaco, according to talkSPORT, have bid £4.3million for the centre back.
The French side have been busier than most this transfer window, having made a vast number of marquee signings in what appears to be a revolutionary plan.
And now they want to add Sporting Lisbon’s Ilori to the likes of Radamel Falcao, Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez.
Sporting are said to want at least £8.5million for the highly rated 20-year-old, however.
Former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is also thought to be looking at the possibility of taking Ilori to Napoli, while Tottenham have supposedly considered trying to secure the services of the 6ft 2in starlet.
Ilori is not a conventional defender, having joined Sporting as a striker originally.
He likes to move forward with the ball and, interestingly, holds Sporting’s academy speed record, having been clocked running at a faster pace than the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani.
Sporting Lisbon have used the player 14 times in their senior side, having watched him play 20 games for their B team.
