Liverpool & Arsenal target hints at big summer move

Tottenham and Arsenal‘s hopes of landing Jackson Martinez from Porto at the end of the season have been handed a major boost, with the striker having revealed that he’s planning to move next summer.

The Colombian forward has been one of Europe’s most deadly marksmen since leaving Mexican team Chiapas to join the Portuguese giants in 2012, averaging almost two goals every three games while helping his club to domestic honours.

Both Spurs and Arsenal have been linked with the player in recent times, with reports having indicated that the Lilywhites are actually the Colombian’s preferred side in north London.

Martinez has also been linked with a switch to Serie A, which his agent has talked up lately, but the 28-year-old says that he has not yet made a decision and is assessing his options ahead of the next transfer window:

“Right now I only focus on doing my job with Porto, but I’m ready to make the leap in the next window,” he is quoted by The Express.

“I have my head focused only on the work I’m doing at Porto at the moment and when the transfer window reopens, we shall see what will happen.”

Martinez has been lauded for his physical presence, pace and finishing ability at Porto.
