Liverpool are believed to have already begun negotiating a deal with Real Madrid over a potential move to sign Karim Benzema in the January window, Metro reports.
Although Brendan Rodgers has already added the likes of Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli to his strike force, he believes that the 26-year-old is the perfect candidate to bring his side back to their winning ways.
Both of his new strikers have failed to make any real impacts since the start of the season, as the recent injury to star forward Daniel Sturridge gave proof to Rodgers that his newest attacking duo aren’t giving him the desired performance.
It is said that Benzema is currently unhappy in Madrid while Paris Saint-Germain are also attempting to step up their chase for the highly rated French striker.
However, it seems that the Reds are currently leading the race to sign the player, but will need to fend off interest from the likes of both PSG and even Arsenal, who have been tracking the player over the past few seasons, in order to complete their sensational switch.
