Jurgen Klopp has been told he must wait until the summer to sign £11m Schalke wonderkid Leroy Sane after the player’s agent stopped any potential deal in January, The Daily Star reports.
The eccentric German gaffer believed he was first in line to sign the 19-year-old attacking midfielder but after Sane’s agent Jurgen Milewski, put a blocker on any move right now, the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United have now joined the race.
The young German has only played 30-odd games for Die Königsblauen and yet has garnered a number of admirers, including national team coach Joachim Low.
Low said: “Leroy’s performances this year have been very impressive. I like the way he goes about his business. He’s very clever at moving into space.
“He’s incredibly quick, has the vision to create and scores a lot of goals himself. I see huge potential in him.”
Klopp will be keen to bolster his attacking options after Divock Origi added to his already growing injury list which also includes Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings, but it seems he may have to look elsewhere in January.
