Liverpool have moved into pole position to complete the signing of Sergi Samper, with the Barcelona ace favouring an exit, according to reports from the Metro.
The 20-year-old is highly rated by the La Liga giants, but has been finding it very hard to promote himself from the Barcelona B squad into the first team.
In bids to further continue his career, the midfielder looks to have decided to make a move, with the Reds keen on luring him to Anfield.
Apart from interest from Brendan Rodgers’ side, Arsenal have also been monitoring the Spaniard’s situation, but he is being tipped to snub a switch to the Emirates.
He has already made 28 appearances for the Barca second team so far this season, but only managed to be selected for the senior squad two times.
Samper featured once in the Champions League under Luis Enrique, playing the full 90 minutues, while also making a substitute appearance in the Copa del Rey.
