Liverpool & Everton head-to-head for 41-goals-in-60-games strike sensation

Both Everton and Liverpool are keen on £22m-rated Lyon hot-shot Alexandre Lacazette ahead of the looming summer transfer window, according to reports from the Mirror.

The 24-year-old is currently the joint second-highest scorer in Ligue 1 – only Zlatan Ibrahimovic has a better return – with 14 goals, taking his tally since the start of the 2014/15 campaign to a whopping 41 in just 60 matches.

Lacazette’s performances have put him firmly in contention to make France’s EURO 2016 squad, and reports claim that they may even earn him a move across the Channel, with both Everton and Liverpool interested.

The Merseyside duo face uncertain striking futures with Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke being linked with moves away from Goodison Park and Anfield respectively, and the pair look almost certain to invest in new names.

Lacazette is valued at around £22m.

He came close to joining Newcastle in January after Lyon accepted their bid for him.
