Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter in romantic fashion after they allowed the thought of a return to Anfield for their former hero Luis Suarez to enter their minds.
German football magazine 11FREUNDE revealed that the Uruguayan international, who turns 32 today, admires Reds boss Jurgen Klopp. The Barcelona marksman said: “Every player would like to train under Jurgen Klopp.”
Suarez scored 82 goals across a four-year stay on Merseyside and remains a firm fan favourite at Anfield, but a move for a striker entering the declining years of his career looks unlikely, especially given the transfer fee he could still command.
Since moving to the Camp Nou, the former Ajax man has hit a remarkable 167 goals in just over 220 appearances (stats via Transfermarkt).
Reds supporters are more than happy with their current attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, although that hasn’t stopped them fantasising over Suarez returning to the Merseyside club.
Here’s a look at what lots of Liverpool fans have been saying on Twitter.
