Liverpool and Manchester City kick start the brilliant Sunday of football we are all no doubt in for, with the curtain coming down with the Capital One Cup final between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.
Anyway, before we get to Wembley, we begin proceedings at Anfield where Brendan Rodgers has sprung a surprise on Liverpool fans and neutrals by naming Mario Balotelli and Daniel Sturridge on the bench.
The Reds have struggled in the final third following Luis Suarez’s sale and Sturridge’s long spells on the sidelines, so you’d image that the former Swansea City gaffer would’ve jumped at the chance to be able to name the England international in a game against the reigning Premier League champions.
Mario Balotelli has hardly set the world alight since moving to Merseyside, however, following dramatic winners against Tottenham Hotspur and Besiktas, surely the Italian international is pushing for a starting place? Especially against his former club, a game in which he will be desperate to prove himself.
Liverpool fans aren’t happy to see the duo on the bench:
No sense at all"@TheAnfieldChat: Sturridge, Balotelli, Borini and Lambert all on the bench. That's four strikers. Where is the logic in that

I would've started Balotelli or Sturridge though ahead of Lallana. Sterling could be wasted. A stronger forward would be better #LFC

No Sturridge, Balotelli and Ibe in the #Liverpool starting XI . What is Brendan Rodgers thinking? This game plan could back fire

He's playing Allen whose not creative. He's playing lone striker.. When Sturridge is there or even balotelli whose been playing well of late
