The rivalry between Arsenal and Liverpool has never been as fierce than with other Premier League competitors.
The Gunners’ biggest enemies are fellow North Londoners Tottenham Hotspur, while Liverpool do not see eye to eye with Everton and Manchester United.
However, the Gunners have been the butt of the joke in recent seasons due to their failings in the Premier League.
Plenty of Arsenal fans have been calling for the departure of Arsene Wenger for some time, and on Friday their wish was granted as the Frenchman officially announced in a statement that he will step down at the end of the season.
The 68-year-old leaves behind a two-decade tenure that included three Premier League title wins and seven FA Cup final triumphs.
Many rival supporters enjoyed the idea of Wenger remaining at Arsenal due to the fact that the Gunners were becoming less of a threat.
However, Liverpool supporters took a different approach as they chose to praise the Arsenal boss.

Although I support #LFC, I'm genuinely saddened by the news that #Wenger is leaving #Arsenal. Achieved so much in the game through playing attractive football and by developing his own superstar players. Huge respect and I wish him all the best for the future.

22 years, one invincible season that holds a record for long… 7 FA Cups and 3 PL titles. All led by one man, Arsene Wenger. Hats off to the man himself, he made Arsenal, Arsenal… 03/04 was his record breaking season and as an #LFC fan, I’ve utmost respect for him.

Even as a Liverpool fan I don’t mind the following… Arsenal fans are finally brought together in paying tribute to Wenger, great atmosphere guaranteed for the Europa League semis, players are energised and win the trophy, Wenger leaves and forever is a legend. #LFC #AFC

I am a #LFC fan . That said ,Wenger produced one of the best Prem teams that we will possibly ever see.
A very clever announcement , day after At. Madrid get spanked , clarity is there for AFC fans. Great motivation to win the Europa for Wenger to leave on a high

Wenger is wanted out by most Arsenal fans now, from what I can tell. He demands respect though. He was revolutionary in coaching terms twenty years ago. I think best for all concerned now. Run it’s natural course👏👏 #Arsenal #LFC

Even as Liverpool fan you have to say thanks to Wenger. A true gentleman of the game. The premier league won’t be the same without him and he’s made some major changes to the game. Forever a legend of football thanks arsene Wenger. One arsene Wenger. #Arsenal #LFC

#Arsenal better get a good replacement in or they'll suffer a Hogdson period like we did. That said Wenger was a world-class manager for a long time, he carried the club into the modern football era. Their dad is leaving home. #LFC
