Liverpool & Man City both eyeing West Ham fans’ favourite

Both Manchester City and Liverpool are keeping a close eye on impressive West Ham left-back Aaron Cresswell ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports from The Times.

The 26-year-old has made a smooth transition to top flight football after signing for the Hammers from Ipswich Town prior to the start of the 2014/15 campaign and is already considered to be one of the key men at the Boleyn Ground.

And reports claim that his performances have attracted attention from further afield now, with City and Liverpool both monitoring the defender.

It’s understood that the Citizens are particularly eager to snap up Cresswell as they plot to add more home-grown players to their ranks, which has been a consistent issue both domestically and in European competition for the club since the arrival of their big-spending owners.

Liverpool are also keen and have been monitoring the attack-minded defender for some time. He could be a potential replacement for Alberto Moreno, who has hasn’t truly convinced since his 2014 move to the club from Sevilla.
