Liverpool & Man United scouting the ‘new Freddy Adu’

Liverpool and Manchester United are both looking at 15-year-old Vancouver Whitecaps attacker Alphonso Davies, according to reports from Canadian newspaper, The Province.

The Premier league giants have both reportedly been looking at Davies, who has been compared to Freddy Adu due to his early breakthrough.

Liverpool currently lead the race for his signature after sending scouts to watch the teenager, who won a penalty in the Whitecaps’ 2-1 defeat to Seattle Sounders.

Davies, who was born in Liberia and moved to Ghana before settling in Canada, has been to training camps with the U15s and U18s national teamsĀ and has also represented Canada against England’s U-20s.

Despite this, he is not yet eligible to represent the senior national side as he is not a Canadian citizen.

The youngster has been generating a lot of hype recently after appearing eight times for the Whitecaps in Major League Soccer action, with a player not showing so much talent at such a young age since Adu.

Davies will be hoping to go further in the game that Adu who, having failed to live up to his potential, currently plays for Tampa Bay Rowdies after spells in Brazil, Serbia and Finland.
