Real Madrid are hoping to gazump Manchester United to the signature of Radamel Falcao, but only if Liverpool agree to pay £40million for Karim Benzema.
According to the Express, the Spanish giants are serious about bringing the Colombian to La Liga next summer, despite Manchester United eager to make his loan spell permanent this month.
And reports in Spain suggest a move for Falcao will all depend on whether they can ship striker Karim Benzema out at the end of the season, with Liverpool thought to be considering a £40m offer for the Frenchman.
And with Benzema pushing for a move to Anfield – after growing frustrated with regular criticism from boss Carlo Ancelloti – Man United’s hopes of signing Falcao could be totally reliant on their rivals’ decision on Benzema.
It is believed Real Madrid want to use the funds raised by the sale of Benzema to sign Monaco’s Falcao and now are desperate for the Reds to meet their £40m asking price.
