Liverpool target mimics Ballon d’Or nominee

Following Simon Mignolet’s axe as Liverpool’s No.1 earlier in the season and question marks forever surrounding Brad Jones’ ability as a goalkeeper, it is no surprise that goalkeepers have been linked left, right and centre with Brendan Rodgers’ side.

One of those that has been linked is Barcelona’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, despite the fact the 22-year-old only joined the La Liga giants in the summer from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The German international has yet to make an appearance in Spain’s top flight with coach Luis Enrique prefering the experienced, and fellow summer signing, Claudio Bravo – although Ter Stegen has played in all of Barcelona’s Champions League games so far this season.

Ter Stegen, like all footballers, will no doubt have a player – past or present – who he aspires to be like and replicate and, following the footage below, it appears it may well be Bayern Munich’s Ballon d’Or nominee and all-round sweeper-keeper Manuel Neuer.
