Liverpool vs. Stoke – Confirmed starting XIs

With Liverpool’s major rivals having all won on Boxing Day, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds enter a home clash with Stoke in the knowledge that they need a win to keep pace in the title race.

The Merseysiders fell nine points behind Chelsea after their victory at home vs. Bournemouth, while Manchester City leapt above them into second courtesy of a win at Hull and just behind them Arsenal moved level on points after they beat West Brom.

It wasn’t a much better day for Mark Hughes’ Potters, who fell to 12th, but they know that a win at Anfield will lift them up to 9th.

Liverpool have named an unchanged XI for this game following on from their Merseyside Derby heroics, with Georginio Wijnaldum keeping his place in the team despite Emre Can’s return to fitness. Daniel Sturridge is once again on the bench.

Stoke are without the suspended Marko Arnautovic and former Liverpool man Peter Crouch will lead the line at his former home ground, with Jon Walters just behind him. Two more ex-Reds are in the team with Glen Johnson and Joe Allen also selected.
