Liverpool have had a pretty miserable time of it against West Brom in recent meetings, so today’s game has a huge amount of significance for Jurgen Klopp and his men.
Indeed, the Kop side have drawn their last three encounters with the Baggies and have a less than favourable record against their manager, Tony Pulis, who famously put the final nail in their 2013/14 title coffin when manager of Crystal Palace with a 3-3 draw.
The Baggies enter this tie full of confidence after holding the Premier League’s only undefeated side, Spurs, to a draw last weekend. The Midlanders have made an unspectacular start to the season, but in new signing Nacer Chadli they appear to have added the sort of guile they’ve often missed from attacking midfield.

Liverpool are once again without Georginio Wijnaldum in their starting line-up, while Daniel Sturridge drops out of the XI after a difficult game against Manchester United. Adam Lallana is back in after recovering from a groin problem.
West Brom have the in-form Chadli playing just off Salomon Rondon. Former Manchester United man Darren Fletcher skippers the Baggies.
