Liverpool have been encouraged to make a summer move for Luciano Vietto, with the player’s agent having revealed that his client “might” leave Villarreal at the end of the season.
The Argentine has emerged as one of La Liga’s top talents this season, notching 20 goals for the Yellow Submarine.
His performances have attracted a host of clubs, with Liverpool firmly in the running for the 21-year-old.
Reports claim that the Reds see Vietto as a ‘priority’ signing, and his agent, Jorge Cyterszpiler, has confirmed that the striker could make a move in a few months’ time:
“He [Vietto] might leave in the summer. It is normal that the best clubs in the world are after him,” he is quoted by The Metro.
“If big clubs make an offer, we need to talk. The offer must be very good, not only for us but also for Villarreal.”
As well as Liverpool, Manchester United re thought to be keen on Vietto.
A striker could be a summer priority for Rodgers, with the Northern Irishman having been forced to use Raheem Sterling as a centre-forward in the absence of Daniel Sturridge.
