Liverpool are in talks to sign £5m rated Serbian teenage sensation Marko Grujic, according to the Daily Mirror.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is apparently very keen to land the highly rated defensive midfielder from Red Star Belgrade ahead of next month’s transfer window, his first at the helm on Merseyside.
The Anfield outfit are understood to have scouted the 19-year old dynamo over the weekend and were admitted permission to speak with him after the 7-2 drubbing of minnows Cukaricki on Sunday.
‘I had a talk with Liverpool’, revealed the teenager, ‘but I did not receive yet any agreement. I’m a still Red Star player.’
Drawing comparisons with compatriot Nemanja Matic, the tough tackling midfield man has been linked with a raft of top European clubs in recent months.
Chelsea, Inter Milan and Roma are all said to have expressed an interest in landing him as his stock continue to rise.
Grujic was a key part of the Serbian Under-20 side that won the World Cup in that age group earlier this year.
