And against all the odds, Liverpool have done it again.

It's not that people are not expecting the Reds to perform miracles because we know they can but their victory over Shrewsbury Town really was a true sensation.

The Premier League leaders, in the absence of manager Jurgen Klopp and the usual suspects in the starting lineup, deployed a younger crop of players in the hope they would somehow claw their way to victory.

And they did exactly that.

Much harder than you'd think... Can you name Liverpool's top scorers for each of these 25 seasons?

Needless to say, many of them earned heaps of praise from fans including Adam Lewis, Liverpool's left-back on the night.

Many of the Anfield faithful simply thought the young lad was phenomenal.

But there's more to these comments than just regular praise. Lewis was even compared to multiple different Liverpool players. Some thought he looks like the perfect understudy for Andrew Robertson, while others feel there's a bit of Trent-Alexander Arnold in the way he whips the ball.

One fan even said the youngster reminds him of Fabio Aurelio...

Finally, one fan also stated that both the 19-year-old and his counterpart on the other side, Neco Williams, could save Liverpool a lot of money in their search for potential cover for the current full-backs.

No pressure, then, huh?

In other news, many Liverpool fans want to see one Manchester City star at Anfield in the near future...
