According to reports from FC Inter News, Martin Skrtel’s agent has claimed he could sign for Inter Milan during the summer transfer window.
The Slovakian international, who has been essential to his country’s efforts at Euro 2016, has just come to the end of his eighth full campaign at Liverpool but looks set to leave the club this summer.
Indeed, Fenerbahce have already launched a £5.5million bid for the veteran centre-half, whilst Galatasaray and Besiktas are also said to be interested in his services.
But according to representative Karol Csonto, the 32-year-old could end up moving to Serie A rather than the Turkish Super Lig – having emerged as a target for Inter Milan.
As quoted by FC Inter News, the 87-cap international’s agent said; “Soon we will know something more, I think in a few days. There are several teams interested, including Inter, which is certainly a distinct possibility.
“Martin, he is a great player. [Inter manager Roberto] Mancini? Let’s talk about a great coach, but as I said there is to wait. Not much yet, but one has to wait.”
Skrtel has made 319 appearances across all competitions for the Reds, lifting the League Cup in 2012 and the club’s Player of the Year award during the same season.
