Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld has denied he is set for a move to Liverpool, and will wait until the summer to decide his future, according to Sky Sports.
The Belgian centre-back has been strongly linked with moves to other European leagues but the main interest seems to reside in England with Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle United all chasing his signature.
Ajax have already admitted they would like the player to stay and have offered Alderweireld a new deal, which he is yet to decide on.
Recent rumours suggested that it was Liverpool who were set to secure his signature after the defender fuelled speculation when he said he would prefer a move to Anfield over a trip to St James’.
The 24-year-old has now come out to play down the significance of those comments, insisting he has made no decision on his future and will wait until the end of the season.
He said: “I read that Liverpool are interested, but I have never said they would be my new club.
“At the end of the season, I will look at all the options.”
