After suffering a horrific injury against AS Roma last year, this season was always going to be about recovery for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The Liverpool star spent the majority of the campaign on the sidelines, attempting to get back on track after his ACL injury. The 25-year-old made his emotional return from an almost year-long lay-off in the closing stages of the season, and was an unused substitute in the Reds' triumphant Champions League final win over Tottenham.

With Gareth Southgate understandably excluding him from his Nations League squad, Oxlade-Chamberlain has been off on his holidays earlier than the rest of his teammates on international duty.

The England international took to

The ex-Arsenal man has endured a stop-star career with Liverpool since joining Jurgen Klopp's side back in the summer of 2017, but will be hoping that his comeback from injury can give him a whole summer to get fit.

The Reds have a pre-season tour in the USA and Oxlade-Chamberlain will be having both fingers crossed that he isn't on the end of more injury gloom so that he can finally get back to playing in a Liverpool shirt on a regular basis once again.
