Another Liverpool star set to see specialist amid injury woes

Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli is set to travel to Denmark to see a specialist consultant about his groin injury, according to reports from the Liverpool Echo.

The Italy international is currently away from Anfield on loan with AC Milan after a thoroughly disappointing debut campaign on Merseyside.

However, he’s still owned by the Reds who have given him permission to travel to Denmark to have his groin injury assessed in depth by Professor Per Holmich during the international break.

‘Balo’ has been out of action since late September with the problem and is set to undergo tests in Copenhagen, with Milan keen to get him back to full fitness as soon as possible.

It’s understood that Liverpool’s medical team have been in regular contact with their Rossoneri counterparts in recent times regarding the issue.

Balotelli has scored one goal for Milan since re-joining the club he left for the Reds in 2014.
