Liverpool boosted in race for Swansea star

Liverpool look to have a clear path to snap up Swansea’s Michel Vorm, with Garry Monk’s side eyeing a deal for Arsenal stopper Lukasz Fabianski, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Dutch goalkeeper is thought to be a top target for Reds chief Brendan Rodgers, as he looks to provide Simon Mignolet with more competition.

Brad Jones is no longer seen as capable of keeping the pressure on, and the Northern Irishman sees his former glovesman from his spell as the Swans’ head coach as a player able to improve his options between the sticks.

Vorm is thought to be available for as little as £5m, with the South Wales outfit considering getting his relatively hefty wages off of their expenditure.

Fabianski is considered to be a player capable of filling the potential void.

The Polish ‘keeper is available on a free after leaving Arsenal on the back of their FA Cup success, and possesses a wealth of experience in the Premier League after a long spell at the Emirates Stadium.

Fabianski himself may be keen to make the switch, with playing time a priority for him:

“After seven years here it is not easy for me to leave but my decision is made purely on playing regularly every week. That is main reason for me.”
