According to 90min.com, Liverpool have made an enquiry for Southampton’s Matt Targett as the club seek a new left-back in this summer’s transfer window.
Andrew Robertson is the undisputed first-choice left-back at Anfield.
However, Alberto Moreno’s departure this summer means that Jurgen Klopp’s side are short when it comes to experienced back-up for Robertson.
Targett is hardly a spring chicken at the age of 23 and the fact that the 6 ft ace only made 16 Premier League appearances for the Saints during the 2018-19 campaign could lead the defender to seek pastures new.
That said, it is not as if first-team football would be on offer at Liverpool.

What is this continued fascination with Southampton players? Enough already; if Targett isn’t good enough 2 play ahead of Bertrand y wud he b good enough as our 2nd choice LB? We’re European Champs & we need to be getting players worthy of being in our squad, Robbo was exception

He has the raw materials to be a good LB but has always looked average at Premier league level.

Why would we make enquiry with our reserves team ?

Why are people against this??? I swear Klopp could win the septuple next season and there’d still be Twitter experts questioning his singings. Maybe don’t judge them on their FiFA Stats. IF he comes in, I’m sure he could be at least a decent signing.
