As quoted by The Metro, Hatem Ben Arfa has claimed a whopping 18 clubs are hoping to sign him during the summer transfer window.
The French international is best famed for his turbulent spell at Newcastle United, that saw him produce occasional moments of brilliance but leave under a dark cloud in summer 2015 following a failed loan stint at Hull City.
However, the former Marseille star has revived his stuttering career since returning to Ligue 1 with Nice at the start of the 2015/16 season, going on to bag 17 goals and six assists in 34 league outings.
That has seen the winger-forward muscle his way back into the France national team in recent months, although he’s missed out on a spot in their Euro 2016 squad, and become linked with a return to the Premier League.
However, it appears the Premier League duo now face widespread competition for his signature, with Ben Arfa alleging their are a staggering 18 clubs courting him ahead of the summer transfer window.
As quoted by The Metro, he said; “There are 18 very interesting clubs who have put themselves forward. I have picked out three. There are plenty of offers, like the one from Lyon.
“They are a very ambitious club with a very ambitious president [Jean-Michel Aulas]. Any club with ambition is very interesting. It’s a very important decision for me to take this year. I will reflect and discuss it with my entourage.”
