Lots of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to disregard Philippe Coutinho's comments about showing respect towards the Reds.

Sky Sports report that the Brazilian international isn't interested in a move to Manchester United out of respect for his former side Liverpool, who are of course United's arch rivals.

However, the 27-year-old's gesture hasn't had the desired effect amongst the Liverpool fans on Twitter - as you can see below.

The Anfield faithful clearly hate the former Inter Milan man's guts after the manner in which he forced a move away from Merseyside back in January 2018. Coutinho handed in a transfer request in order to push through a move to Barcelona, and also paid £11.5m of his own money to make the move happen.

Some of the supporters here have even referenced the time where Coutinho complained of a back injury and missed a number of games, but was then fine to appear for the Brazil national team - that suspicious incident only worsened his relationship with the fanbase.
