Lots of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to disregard Philippe Coutinho’s comments about showing respect towards the Reds.
Sky Sports report that the Brazilian international isn’t interested in a move to Manchester United out of respect for his former side Liverpool, who are of course United’s arch rivals.
You can relive Liverpool’s Champions League celebrations in glorious 2D thanks to the guys at 442oons in the video below…
However, the 27-year-old’s gesture hasn’t had the desired effect amongst the Liverpool fans on Twitter – as you can see below.
The Anfield faithful clearly hate the former Inter Milan man’s guts after the manner in which he forced a move away from Merseyside back in January 2018. Coutinho handed in a transfer request in order to push through a move to Barcelona, and also paid £11.5m of his own money to make the move happen.
Some of the supporters here have even referenced the time where Coutinho complained of a back injury and missed a number of games, but was then fine to appear for the Brazil national team – that suspicious incident only worsened his relationship with the fanbase.
After the recent rumours about the playmaker rejecting a move to United surfaced, many Liverpool fans on Twitter aren’t having any of it…
Shame he never ruled out a move to the chiropractor before his miracle recovery

He lost respect for Liverpool when he contributed towards his own move

Lmao best go and revive your career and be a main man again. We don’t really care what you do at this point.

Loool the guy doesnt know the meaning of respect!!! Constantly missed out on games whilst getting paid because of “back pains” but would be miraculously fit when called up to play for the Brazilian national team…

Okay but he still faked an injury to move away and now he wants to start showing respect? No thanks

Couldn’t care less if he moved there. UTD are a mid table team now and not worth worrying about anymore.

Funny because we have no respect for him

Who cares, he can as well sign for Everton. We’ve moved on, so should he.
